Chuck Jones obviously made a lot of really great cartoons, but I think that this is his best (it's probably my favourite animated short of all time). I love everything about this cartoon -- the highlight being the classic sequence in which Marc Antony thinks that Pussyfoot has been baked into a batch of cookies. Good stuff.

probably my favorite era of animation. so clean, fluid and rich. these animators were the firsts, certainly the lead animators, masters. beats the static and plastic 3d feel sometimes. this is just drawings moving, almost otherwordly, as if you're peeking in to this rich story that's happening in some plausible imaginary universe, liek a dream. the suspension of disbelief is heavy in the characters, or maybe I just watched too much as a kid.
