Bio:
Your friendly, neighborhood physicist.

My favorite author is Kurt Vonegut and my favorite book is Small Gods by Terry Prattchet. I am currently looking for a good book, and preparing a couple publications for submission.

If I get testy with you here is the most likely reason:
We have to be willing to accept the results that science gives us. If we experimentally determine something to be true, then to the best of our knowledge within the confines of the experiment, it is true. And we should accept that truth until another experiment proves otherwise. This doesn't mean we shouldn't question these truths. What it means is if we decide to call them false then we better have damn good evidence. To do things differently is a slap in the face to everyone who calls themselves a scientist. And I take it personally.

It could also be that you are a racist, antimuslim, antisemite, or just someone promoting intolerance and ignorance... in which case I still take it personally. And I will do everything in my power to see that intolerance is exposed. Hate should be parodied not praised.

Here are some good tips I have learned:

1. If you are going to vomit, take some Tums. It will neutralize the acid in your stomach.
2. You can use denture cleaner to clean anything.
3. Bring ear plugs concerts. You will be able to hear the higher frequencies easier and you will be better off afterwards.
4. Never ever, ever get in a fight with a tree.

What do you and your friends in the Fizix community think about the LHC? Should I be as excited as I am?

My experience wasn't exactly as he described because there was only 1 of the vehicle we wanted within a few hundred miles, and we needed to buy from a specific dealership (because they offer so many perks that no one else has).

Anyway, instead of negotiating a price over the phone, we had them find and retrieve the car. We showed up the next day, went straight into the office, and said, "We have the money. Just show us the invoice and we'll negotiate how far below invoice we're willing to pay." Then, as usual, after a little back and forth, a "boss" came in and explained why they couldn't go any lower. I told him to go down just a little more or we'd walk out. He shook my hand and we drove off.

Soooo, so much easier than leaving all the eggs in their basket. Funny thing is they temporarily give you a contract for the same rate you say you got on your own (just in case your loan doesn't come through) and we ended up using their loan which we received without a credit/income check of any kind.

So how did it go. Was it just like he said?

This is more or less how we bought our new car and it was the easiest car buying experience ever. I'm very glad I watched this video first. The most essential tip of acquiring a loan prior to starting the purchase process makes all the difference.

Yeah, keep me posted.
Glad to hear everything went well!

In reply to this comment by MycroftHomlz:
It did. I think it went very well.

We are going to try and get some more money for the project as well. If we publish something you should give me your name so I can put you in the acknoledgements.

That's what I said... but he doesn't read other peoples comments. He just waits until he can speak again.

Those profits aren't "available", you have to fight long and hard for them against an entrenched, experience, wealthy, connected foe. Not only that, but you must then convince investors, city councils, etc. that what is often a fairly unproven or novel idea will be a better investment in very financially tight times than putting in a coal or natural gas plant (especially since our power grid system was designed for these nearby, constant power sources).

Anyhow, I don't want to start driving into the details... my response in a nutshell is the barriers from idea to operation are very significant, requiring tons of work and tons from tons of employees, which means tons of money.

>> ^imstellar28:
^tell me this. why do you need incentive for people to enter a $1,000,000,000,000 industry? you don't think the sheer profit available is enough?

If you ever go charter, of if you want to just make a sift-talk post in science-sift, you should make a post like the one I just did.
